Welcome and Hello: This blog is still under construction at this time, hopefully it will grow and get better as I have the time to do it. I have fallen into the Leukemia Labyrinth or the maze of CLL and MBL. This blog is mostly for myself . Thanks for coming and please leave a comment.

Blog Status

I am just putting in a post as it has been a year since I posted and Google gets cranky if a blog is not updated.

    1. Thanks Jenny. I hope your friend is doing ok. Leukemia can change and turn into different kinds.

  3. Thank you for your kind comment on Ocala & Central Florida Photos. I went to your other blog and read your heart-warming tribute to our friend, Tina. I had never met her personally but walked with her via email when her husband was so sick as she walked with me through my cancer.

And then I noted this blog. It sounds as though you're still in the midst of all the turmoil cancer can bring. I know very little about leukemia. But, my wife and I have learned lots about bladder cancer. She's three years out of surgery which removed her bladder. She has a urinary diversion which is called a Florida Pouch, which is quite ingenious but is prone to infections and she is fighting that at the moment. She had a very aggressive cancer, but her latest scans (last week) showed no malignancies.

Then I very fortunately discovered early that I had transitional cell carcinoma in my right renal pelvis of the kidney. But couldn't be treated without removing the kidney. About 3/4 of a year later, a tumor was found in my bladder - but again caught early and an operation last December ridded me of that. I have another cystoscopy scheduled for March 15.

We have a fine cancer hospital in Tampa which is about an hour and a half south of us...the Moffitt Cancer Center (it is a NCIS hospital).

Lois Anne (my wife) had some books which were very helpful. One especially good one was "Dying to be Me."

Best wishes to you in the days ahead!

Please leave a comment. Comment Moderation is on so it will not show up right away. It shows up after I read it. I have been having problems with the comments as readers have told me that they leave comments that do not show up. So please leave me one so I can see if it is working. Thanks for coming.
